FAQs

What do we talk about?

The sessions are sixty minutes or an hour and a half. The discussions will start with why you came to counseling, then from there, we will talk about a number of things. Perhaps about your family dynamics, current relationships, coping strategies, challenging past experiences and exploring the many avenues for personal growth and renewal. If we will use hypnotherapy or EMDR, we will most likely be working on trauma issues, habits, or behaviors changes.

How long will it last?

Some people need only to meet with a counselor a few times to resolve an issue, while others opt for in-depth work over a longer period of time. Sessions can be scheduled during the day.

How much money will it cost?

My fee is $130.00 an hour with a sliding scale opportunity. For those whose financial circumstances puts therapy out of reach, I reserve a set number of appointments on a sliding scale each week. I do not accept insurance, my apologies.

How will I know you are the counselor for me?

It is important that you feel comfortable with me. Please ask as many questions about my work as possible. I will certainly tell you as much as I can. It is perfectly fine to interview me, that is why my first session is free. We can also do this over the phone.

Here are some questions to ask me or any other counselor you interview:

What are your areas of expertise and specialization?
What specific training do you have?
How many clients have you worked with that have had similar issues to mine?
Do you receive supervision?
How long have you been in practice?
Where did you go to college?
What will you expect from me in the session and out of the session?
How can I contact you in an emergency?
